When I created my first mandala I scarcely realized the universal significance of this symbol. The form of the mandala is the circle-representing wholeness, the cosmos, and the eternal cycle of life. Throughout many of the world’s cultures, it has been used as a vehicle for meditation.
People have told me that viewing my mandalas can result in a calming, soothing effect. Indeed there are art therapists who work with people at creating their own personal mandala to promote healing and health in a wide variety of circumstances. Mandalas flow quite easily from my imagination and I, too, experience a tranquil effect when drawing them.
